About me

Marin Römer was born in 2000.

At the age of 7, he enrolled in the clarinet at the Pavel Markovac Primary Music School. He graduated from the Archbishop's Classical High School with the right of the public, where he graduated in 2019.

2017. godine postaje glavni školski orguljaš te svira na svim školskim svečanijim misama, također, te godine počinje svirati u crkvi svetog Jeronima.
He continued to study the organ privately with professor Jasmina Belošević, and music theory subjects with professor Tihomir Petrović.

In 2019, he completed preparatory classes for solo singing at the Pavlo Markovac Elementary School and enrolled in the theory department at the Vatroslav Lisinski High School of Music with the organ as a compulsory subject with professor Josipa Leko.
He continued to study theoretical subjects additionally privately; harmony and polyphony with prof. Tihomir Petrović, and solfeggio with Professor Oliver Oliver.

In 2018, he started the St. Jerome Music Festival, where he performed several times as a soloist or as a member of an ensemble.

In 2020, for the needs of the Festival, he founded the Saint Jerome Ensemble.

In 2023, he graduated from the theoretical department of the Vatroslav Lisinski High School of Music;
His graduation thesis is on the topic: "The symbolism of numbers in the music of Johann Sebastian Bach with special reference to the Chaconna from the second partita for solo violin, BWV 1004 and the hidden chorales in it".
Since 2016, he has been attending the Organ Summer School in Šibenik every year, where he studied baroque music interpretation with prof. Pavlo Mašić, prof. Tomaž Sevšek and Iva Mrvelj, interpretation of Italian Renaissance and Baroque music with prof. Simone Vebber, interpretation of romantic and contemporary music for the organ with prof. Natalija Imbrišak and improvisation and organ composition with prof. Ante Knešaurek.

In 2021, he participated in the "Musica Antica" seminar, where he learned with Prof. Egon Mihajlovič and Franjo Bilić about the interpretation of Italian Renaissance and "old" music on the historical organ, as well as the interpretation and accompaniment of early music on the harpsichord.
Later he studied the harpsichord privately for a year with prof. Franjo Bilić.

Also, in 2021, he won second prize at the first international harmony and polyphony competition in Croatia, held in Dugi Selo.
He often performs at concerts in churches in Croatia, either as a soloist, in an ensemble or as a member of the continuo section.
He is actively engaged in improvisation and composition, and a number of compositions have been publicly performed several times.
He is currently studying the organ with prof. Ante Knešaurek, and he performs the service of organist in the church of St. Jerome in Zagreb, the church of Mary Queen of the Apostles in Zaprešić and the church of St. George the Martyr in Pušća.
